My thoughts on unschooling and whatever else interests me...
I bought a sketchbook for myself yesterday and one each for the kids. I also got some good quality 2B pencils. Now to just get in the habit of drawing again. I have a few instructional books so I hope to gradually improve but mostly I just like being creative. If I get brave enough I'll post some sketches on here!

We are a family of five unschoolers in Australia. There's mum, dad, 'J-bird' (9), 'Sparkle' (7), and 'Little Chicken' (8 months).
In the end, the secret to learning is so simple: forget about it. Think only about whatever you love. Follow it, do it, dream about it. I LOVE buying new sketchbooks! It's always very inspiring to bring home a package of Sharpies, too, and just start writing and drawing. I don't consider myself an artist, but I, like you, just like to be creative.

Thanks thicket dweller (love your blog BTW). I have uploaded my first page of sketches onto another blog (http://mycreativeside.blogspot.com) and I did a bit of sketching this morning while I had my cuppa on the back verandah. I'm really enjoying it and yesterday I bought a couple of artist magazines for inspiration. I find when I have a creative outlet it flows into all other areas of my life and I'm a much happier person for it.
